Seit Freitag bin ich nun tatsächlich im Mutterschutz – wie merkwürdig…
In der letzten Arbeitswoche gab´s noch einiges zu erledigen, daher die Blogpause.
Dafür gibt´s jetzt auch Strickfortschritte zu vermelden 🙂

Thursday was my last day at work for this year – feels kinda strange…
It was a little bit hectic during the „final“ week at work, hence no blogging.
Knitting progress was made none-the-less 🙂

Das ist das Mützchen, das zu diesen beiden Pullis passen soll, gestrickt aus den Garnresten, frei nach diesem Muster.

I made this hat from odd balls to match these sweaters , using this pattern as a recipe.

Ausserdem gibt es beim Tilted Duster so langsam was zu sehen.
Nachdem ich endlich die drei „Oberteile“ gedämpft und zusammengenäht hatte, ist das „Schößchen“ jetzt schon ein gutes Stück gewachsen. Allerdings liegen noch Meilen 2re/2li vor mir…

There´s also some progress with the Tilted Duster.
After steam-blocking and seaming the front and back pieces, the skirt is growing constantly. There are miles of 2/2-rib to go, though…

Zuerst hatte ich überlegt, die Oberteile mit provisorischem Anschlag zu machen, um das Schößchen nahtlos anstricken zu können.
Ich bin dann aber wieder davon abgekommen, da das Teil insgesamt ja doch recht schwer werden wird, und die Naht durch´s Maschenaufnehmen glaube ich etwas Stabilität in die Geschichte bringt. Sieht bisher auch sehr gut aus, und fühlt sich gut an.

The first thought was to do the front and back pieces with a provisional cast-on, so the skirt would be seamless.
I changed my mind, because the whole thing will be quite heavy, and the seam made by picking up the stitches might provide some structure. Actually it looks and feels quite good.

Der BBVA musste ja nun sein Junggesellen-Rechner-Comic-und-früher-auch-Raucher-Zimmer räumen. Entsprechend musste der Server einen neuen Platz in der Wohnung finden.

Schlafzimmer kam nicht in Frage – da steht ja schon der Arbeitsrechner. Und ausserdem soll die Lütte zu Anfang bei uns schlafen, und zwar nicht im völligen Elektrosmog.

Also Wohnzimmer. Da stehen aber schon zwei Schlepptops rum. Deswegen hat der BBVA sich richtig Mühe gemacht, und den Server neutral verkleidet. Und weil´s so schön war, hat er die ganzen Telefon-Internet-Kabel-Gedöns-Boxen an der Wand auch noch mit verpackt:

The BFSOA had to give up his „Computer-Comic-formerly-Smoking-Room“ and so we had to find a new place for the server.

No way it could move into our bedroom… there´s already one computer in there. Plus, wee one shall stay with us for the first months and shall do so without much electrosmog.

So the living room. Because there are already two laptops around, the BFSOA worked hard in disguising the server. And ´cause he had nothing else to do, he put the „telephone-internet-cable-thingies“ on the wall in boxes, too. (see pic above)

Er hat auch schön flüsterleise Lüfter mit eingebaut, damit die liebe Silke nicht beim Mittagsschlaf gestört wird. Ach ja, und Linux ist jetzt auch drauf, wodurch das Ganze noch mal ´ne Ecke schneller geworden ist (wurde mir gesagt…).

He put in super-silent fans to avoid disturbances in dear Silkes naptime. Plus, he put Linux on it, so the server is much faster now (that´s what he told me…)

Ausser dem Schalmuster Blossom fiel mir nichts wirklich in´s Auge, und auch das ist halt nett, aber nicht der „Muss-ich-unbedingt-stricken“-Renner.

Except of the Blossom shawl is nothing there that caught my eye. And although that one´s quite nice it´s not the „Have-to-knit“ for me.

Der „Upstairs“ Schal ist endlich fertig!

The „Upstairs“ scarf is finally done!

Muster: Upstairs aus Wollke 7
Garn: Kauni lace in „denim“
Nadeln: 2mm Rundstricknadeln / 2mm circs
Länge: 180 cm gespannt / 180 cm blocked

Ich bin ganz zufrieden, der Schal ist schön luftig und mit knapp 50 Gramm ein echtes Federgewicht.

I´m quite satisfied with the outcome. The scarf is airy and with approx. 50 grams a real lightweight.

…hab´ich den „Upstairs“ von den Nadeln! Er ist in etwa so lang wie meine Arm-Spannweite (der BBVA hat schon wieder mein Maßband verschleppt…)

Und ratet mal, was ich dann wohl heute abend mache?

Welche Fersenform bei Socken bevorzugst du und warum ausgerechnet diese?

Petra, vielen Dank für die heutige Frage!

Ich weiss gar nicht genau, wie die heisst…? Die, bei der man die Fersenwand grade strickt und dann die Maschenzahl „dreiteilt“ für´s Käppchen. Die sitzt bei mir am besten, weil ich superschmale Fersen habe. Für meinen Mann mit seinen Breitlatschen stricke ich sie etwas anders. Da stricke ich nach dem Zusammenstricken beim Käppchen noch eine Masche dazu, bevor ich wende. Das gibt dann so eine Art „Hufeisenform“.

Bumerangferse sowie nachträglich eingestrickte habe ich auch mal ausprobiert, gefiel mir aber weder optisch noch von der Passform so gut wie meine „Herkömmliche“.

Es fragte das neugierige Wollschaf .

Heute kam schon das Garn für den Tilted Duster an. Und es gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut.
Da muss ich mich doch stark zusammenreissen nicht gleich anzuschlagen, denn: ich habe mir fest vorgenommen, vorher den „Upstairs“-Schal endlich fertig zu nadeln. Und da ich die Jacke doch gerne noch während der Schwangerschaft tragen würde heisst das, ich sollte mich tunlichst beeilen. („Instrumente zur Selbstüberlistung“, Kapitel 1)

Now I gotta be strong for I made a resolution: I´m not allowed to cast on until I have finished the „Upstairs“ scarf. And since I´m planning to wear the cardi while I´m still pregnant, I gotta get going!

Today he made Koettbullar for his pregnant „Eat-it-all“. Hmmmmmmmmm…

Während ich noch schimpfte, dass meine IK nicht käme, lag sie schon die ganze Zeit still und heimlich fünf Stockwerke unter mir im Briefkasten 🙂

Der BBVA hat sie soeben mit hoch gebracht (und dann hab´ich auch sofort Wolle bestellt…).

The IK was already in the mailbox while I moaned about waiting for it´s arrival 🙂

My hubby just brought it with him (and I ordered the yarn immediately…).

So langsam wird arbeiten doch so anstrengend, dass ich ansonsten nicht viel geschafft habe (nicht mal bloggen…)

Aber es sind nur noch zwei Wochen bis zum Mutterschutz – STRAHL!

It´s getting harder and harder at work, so I didn´t get much done during the week (not even blogging…)

There are only two weeks left until I can stay at home – BEAM!

Und was kleines zwischendrin geht ja immer zu stricken, gell?
Das ist jetzt aber mal nicht für uns… wir sind ja schon üppig bestrickt. (hmmm,ist das ein Hindernis?)
Die Sachen sind für eine Lady im Bekanntenkreis, die im November ihr erstes Kind erwartet.

Teeny tiny things like this always fit in, don´t they?
These are not for us, though… we´re already set with baby knitwear. (hmmm, does that matter?)
These sweeties are for a friend who awaits her first child in November.

Schühchen / booties:
Aus Sockenwollresten, Musterquelle unbekannt (hab´ich nur handschriftlich).

Made from sock yarn odd balls, pattern source unknown.

Mütze / bonnet:
Gleiches Garn, Muster war das „Top Down Bonnet“ von Adrian , angepasst an meine Maschenprobe.

Same yarn, pattern is the „Top Down Bonnet“ from Adrian , modified to match my gauge.

Im Moment warte ich ungeduldig auf mein Exemplar der neuen IK , da ich mir die hier als Umstandsjacke für die letzten Wochen stricken möchte.

Mal sehen, wer schneller ist: Interweave oder Kind?

I desperately await my copy of the new IK , for I want to make this as a maternity sweater for the last weeks of the pregnancy.
